cochise1949, new rigs can be 'fun' can't they? I wonder if the system was not bled from the get-go, but then I would question if the system was not tested. It would be difficult to comprehend that a new system would not be tested. Did you get under the MH to check for any leaks? If I remember correctly, the system is 'self bleeding' and should have gotten all of the air out.
Keep us posted as to what is found. Since I have replaced the motor/pump in ours we have not had any more problems with our system.

I have a 2014 Winnebago vista 30-T and am having trouble with the Lippert jacks when using the AUTOMATIC mode. Manual mode seems to work OK if I use a carpenter's level to level the coach. Auto mode will work OK if I run the ZERO POINT CALIBRATION procedure; however, MOST of the time the Auto mode will fail after the coach has been driven a few miles.
I have had it to 3 different dealers and none have repaired the problem. Today I e-mailed Winnebago and Lippert regarding this problem.
I do not like the Lippert leveling system. My 2011 Winnebago Aspect had HWH jacks and if I had known this one had the Lippert system installed then I would not have purchased this coach.

Lippert slide issues, Lippert level jack issues, sounds like a hosed company. Seem to read way more posts about problems with them than I ever do/did with HWH. I wouldn't buy a motorhome unless it had HWH.

I just came upon this thread. Yes there are known issues with the Lippert system. My rig is a 2011. In 2012 while lowering the jacks my wife cried out that there was smoke coming from under the RV. It was the jack pump assembly. The problem was that the seal that keeps the oil on the oil side and the electricity on the electricity side failed and had been failing since day one, oil was bleeding by and saturated the motor. In discussions with Lippert they finally asked what colour the reservoir cap was. Odd question. I told them yellow, they said we'll send you a new unit, and they did. Seems they could identify the problem by the colour of the cap, that and my description of and attempts at rectifying the problem. I even installed a pressure gauge to monitor the line pressures, sent them IPhone videos everything I could think of. So yes, in the vintage of pump you describe there very well could be a known problem.
No problems since, but hey, its a new season. Who knows what issues lay within the beast.

I don't doubt that Lippert has had some problems over the years, but to say it's a "hosed company" is a bit of an over statement. This topic has been open since June of 2013 and so far there have been only 5 responses indicating owners are having problems.
As for HWH I believe they also make a good product, however there have been failures with their systems as well. I've never heard of any company that makes any product that has never had a problem.

I kind of agree with 'Hikerdog' with the few responses about problems with the Lippert systems. There are many MH's with this system in them and there does not seem to be that many issues. My intent was to 'share' ideas on how to better maintain our systems and hope to make fixes while out camping. Lippert has been good in helping and answering questions. As with any mechanical system, they wear out and need to be repaired time to time.

I can't say off the top of my head, but I believe it's still yellow.

I'm guessing different colored caps are on different reservoirs.
Ultimately it was the small shaft that goes between the reservoir and the electric motor. The original part did not have a seal whereas the same part in the replacement pump pack did. It was also shaped somewhat differently.

We have a 2012 Encounter with the Lippert leveling system. On our third trip the left front jack blew the seal and could not be retracted. A mobile repair service removed the jack. The tech said he has never seen a jack that light/flimsy on a motorhome. Apparently they are cutting corners to keep profits up. Fortunately it is being covered as warranty work. It is in the shop now having the new jack installed. I can't say I'm impressed with the Lippert system.

Since I have made repairs to our system, we have not had any more issues. I do agree in that they system does seem flimsy, with only three jacks, but that seems to be the 'norm' lately.

Three jacks may be the "norm" for some manufacturers. However there are others like Winnebago that have always and still do use 4 jacks.

I have the Lippert system on my MH. Went thru 5 pumps before getting one that didn't have leaking seals. Been in service for over 2 years now with no more issues.
