Those buttons appear to be inductive proximity buttons. It's the common type button used in electronics today, as in computer keyboards, etc. There is no physical electrical connection to clean. There are two little pads on the circuit board under the button. The bottom of the push button is impregnated with something like iron particles, which induces the voltage from one pad to the other, when the bottom of the push button is pressed down against the pads on the circuit board, but there's no physical electrical connection.
If there's some dust/dirt on the pads or bottom of the buttons which prevents close positioning of the button to the pads, some cleaning with alcohol wipes may help.
The real problem is in the minute changes in the electronic circuitry over the aging time of components. Replacement is painful ($), but your best option.
