Magnum charging problem

I have the Magnum MS4024 PAE with battery maintenance kit, 8 SunXtender AGM batteries 6 volt wired for 24 volts, 600 amp hours. Today the charger came on and stayed in Bulk for about 20 minutes and then quit without going to Absorb or Float. The batteries were pulling 22 amps - I expected to see that number go down as the batteries charged up, but it stayed at 22 amps the entire time (about 20 minutes). This has been going on for several days. I checked open circuit voltage on the batteries and they are in good shape. The battery temperature sensor reads 69 degrees, which seems about right. I have checked all the settings for the inverter/charger numerous times, with Magnum tech support guiding me, and they seem right. Any idea what’s going on here?

I had a very similar situation a couple of months ago. The tech at Magnum had me unplug the cat 5 (?) cable from the back of the display and at the unit itself and spray them with contact cleaner and reinstall. After that, it worked fine. i

You mean the cable between the inverter and the remote?

Yep --- unscrewed the remote from the panel to get to the cable and crawled into the bay to get to that end.
