Magnum MS2012

Inverter acting up. AC back feed alarm and inverter groans and clicks when reset. I have a heavy burnt electronic smell in the cabinet. We presently have a me2012 and plan to install ms2012. The pure sine seems to be the way to go with residential fridge on board. The problem is I see that there are ms2012 15 b, ms201220 20b and the ms2013 100amp. What unit am I needing to replace what I have so I keep the same capacity charger and pass thru capability? The price difference indicates there must be a difference. I have shopped and just want to purchase the correct unit.

a call to magnum will get you all the info. they are very helpful and normally walk you extra miles to get your issues resolved.

since your coach is pretty new, i would recommend a 3012 or 2812 inverter. price wise not too much difference between them. you don't need to change anything but just the inverter and the remote. i replaced my zantrex freedom 20d with a ms2812, diy, couldn't be happier.

The feedback alarm is a scary - mucho damage if ignored. You need to diagnose that before doing anything else. thus the smell and the groaning.

Feedback means two different power sources on the same 120v circuit. For example, shore power and inverter at the same time. Maybe an internal transfer switch fault in the MS2012, but maybe something else as well.

After a call to magnum the diagnosis was that the inverter was back feeding power into it's own system. The fix is a replacement. I will be installing a 2012 pure sine unit. Then off to New York for a concert at citi feild.
