MASSIVE Firefly Issue

Have a brand New Fleetwood and then Firefly system keeps going offline. This makes everything in the coach uncontrollable. Anyone felt with this?

Did you try pulling the touch screen from the wall (it pulls straight out) and make sure the network cable is securely plugged in? Maybe a good starting point....

I’ve since discovered that there’s a device sending 12.5V to the firefly system. I don’t know what device as I couldn’t find the common drop connector that it’s plugged into but as soon as I unplug the cable going into the firefly panel itself, the network comes back online. Unfortunately when I disconnect it I lose all devices in the rear as well as the aqua hot but at least I’ve got something. I’ll find out where that other drop is today and I’ll be able to find out what device is sending 12.5V to the system. Why or how that’s happening? No idea. How to fix that? No idea but better than leaving it at a dealer for weeks.

So, you are measuring 12.5v on either the CAN hi or CAN lo wires? CAN Hi is supposed to be 2.5 - 3.75v and CAN-Lo should be 1.25 - 2.5v. Sounds like a connector may have been mis-wired. Some of the network cables can have +12v and ground wires in addition to the two CAN wires. If a connector got wired wrong, that would explain your voltage readings. It could be anything connected to the CAN bus.

If the coach is new, you are under warranty. Can you have dealer look at it?

I found the issue. It’s the rear bath touch screen can wire going into the common drop. I don’t see where the wire was terminated incorrectly but I’m gonna reterminate myself just to be sure. As soon as I unplug, everything reads 2.5v and system is online. Before I discovered, I got Fleetwood involved and they reached out to General RV themselves and they said that they would reach out to me. Never did. As soon as I picked my RV up, General RV ghosted me.
