We get yelled at by the coach if shore power is plugged in.

Agree, the pre-departure walk around is a must do.

That's what worries me about all these "smart" features on new vehicles. Drivers get lulled into not thinking any more. I always do a complete walk around before moving my RV. But I have had my share of OOPSes, too!

None of my coaches would move if the jacks were down but I have never had one that the power cord effects this or at least I have never encountered it.
I personally do multiple walk arounds before leaving a campsite, a rest area, or a gas or a food stop. I always check my tires and hitch coupler even if just do a rest stop. I have done a walk around and found my coupler unlatched on my trailer after a food stop where we were out of site of the RV. Not sure how or why that happened unless it was someone trying to be mischievous. I was a long way from where I hooked up so I feel it was missed on my multiple walk arounds. Now I have a couple lock to prevent that the opening of my coupler.

That option sounds like one more way to get stuck when “feature” breaks. Warnings good. Driver override bad.

Sounds like you have an upgrade now.
Can't tell when you might be in a really big hurry to leave....

IMHO, there's only one good way to know that it's OK to get the coach underway - take a slow, careful looky-loo walk around it.
FWIW, my wife usually walks around counter-clockwise, while I take a clockwise walk around the coach. We're looking for open windows, unlocked compartment doors, anything under the coach, extended grab handle & awnings, soft tires, wheel chocks, anything visible on the roof, anything left on the patio table, cords, hoses, etc.
Relying on some automatic gismo is like relying on the other guy to not hit me.

I have a warning but I don't know if it would allow me to move. However, I have been RVing for over 50 years and we still use a checklist for setup as well as tear down. I even went as far as to have it in a step by step order. Ok, I am a bit OCD. My wife and I check each other's list before we put it in gear. I'm in my 70s and don't trust my memory anymore. Besides that, it's easy to be distracted, especially if someone starts talking to you while you're working.

I've yet to drive off in our motorhome with anything hooked up but I seem to lose at least one water pressure regulator every year. I did drive off a couple of months ago with the coiled light connector to the toad unhooked and dangling, though, which I discovered at our first rest stop about 50 miles down the road. The connector was ground down pretty well from road rash. It still worked okay but it was replaced at our first destination and I keep another one on hand if (or when!) I make that mistake again.
Now I HAVE driven off several times with the extension cord to the battery charger still attached to our bass boat, though! I suppose hurrying to get to the lake sometimes leads me to take unforgiving shortcuts.....

plus 2:
I use a red rubber tourniquet. I get when I haves labs taken. Same thing wrapped around the steering wheel. I use it for any connections, slid, awning and jacks. I do get alarms for jacks and I can't start with the slid out. If the tourniquet is on I do a walk around before moving.
I also put a large clip under the emergency (parking) air brake activator. So it can't be deactivated my mistake or my dogs.

Interesting feature. Once drove off with the power chord still attached, realized after 10 seconds so thankfully the chord was fine.
