Musty smell

What causes a musty smell only when you flush? We have tried all kinds of additives to no avail

How do you differentiate between Musty and sewer smells?

It smells like soured wet clothes. We do not have a w/d. Used unit & smell has been noticeable since first time we used it. Only when we flush.

Kinda sounds like a mold/bacterial growth in the drain

Fill toilet with water, mix a 1/4 cup of bleach in the bowl with the water. Now turn off the supply and relieve the pressure so it will not rinse the bleach solution away when you flush. Flush the bowl quickly so the water will splash inside the downpipe and let it sit for a few hours. That should help. When you return to flush it fill the black tank and add another 1/4 cup of bleach. Let that sit for a few hours as well. Flush and rinse a couple times and you should be done.

If smell continues you may need to take the top of the toilet apart. Some models have a shelf-like void that can get urine and water splashed up in it that cannot be cleaned without taking the top half apart.
