Mystery Dash Button
Newbie here. Learning about all our dash buttons but cannot find anything in our manuals informing what this one mystery button located next to the aux. start and generator start button is all about. See attached picture. Thanks in advance!

Typically the mystery switch on the dash of gasser motorhomes is for the heated mirrors. Not sure in your case though, just a suggestion.

Does it light up when pushed? I don't know the answer, however being so close to the momentary "Aux Start" switch, I suspect it could be there to latch the batteries together (chassis and coach) via the relay (instead of momentarily like the "aux battery" switch likely does). A voltage meter could help you determine if that is the case. Also, I suspect that it may not be easy to do, but if you could get a look at the back of the switch and see where the wires are going, that could be helpful as well, for example if they tie into the momentary switch then my above thought would be more likely to be correct, if the wires don't tie in and go off in another direction then the switch certainly would be for another purpose. ~Craig

I do see a light on the switch so that places it as a high possibility of being for heated mirrors.
Again, without information about your coach, all is just guessing.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!
Heated mirrors would be my guess too.
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

To me, the switch doesn't match with the other oem switches. I would think that heated mirrors, if they were oem, would match. This looks to be something added by a previous owner or dealer.
Have no idea what it might be for but possibilities could be air horn, interior or exterior light, lighting underneath the rig, something to do with the electric steps maybe?
That dash probably lifts up so I'd check to see if there was voltage and then try to follow the wiring to see where it went.

Yes, that might help haha. It's a 2000 Gulf Stream Conquest Limited.

It doesn't light up. That is a good guess though! I will try and follow the cord and see where it leads me! I can see the back quite easy...but to follow the cord may be more challenging haha. Any suggestions for how to follow cords that may be going quite a distance?? This may be helpful for us to figure out other weird wiring that is going on.
Thanks!

A momentary light flasher (like the truckers use is another possibility.

What type of switch is it? That will help determine its use. A simple On/Off or a On/OffOn, or a spring return????
It almost looks like it’s centered, not pushed in on 1 end

You would never want to connect the battery banks together unless you have some charging somewhere, and then the RV does it automaticly.
My guess is mirror heat. Have you found another switch marked mirror heat ?

Maybe check out this link to https://www.gulfstreamcoach.com/manuals and see if it helps you. They have some owner’s manuals but don’t know how complete they are.
If I were to guess at it considering it is isolated with other generator controls I would say it is the generator preheat control. But thus is just a guess.

I would bet mirror heater as well. My mirror heat button was the only one that's not labeled because it was added by the builder. On mine it's always connected to the battery even when the ignition is off, so I have to make sure I leave it turned off or it will drain the battery in two days
