National General Insurance

I use this company for my class A motorhome insurance.

After a bender, they sent me the following about repairs.

1. Schedule your RV repairs.

"You have the option of choosing the repair facility but we want to share that Good Sam Insurance has established partnerships with direct repair shops around the country. These shops are trusted to make quality repairs at preferred rates, and all repairs automatically include a lifetime warranty. Once you’ve scheduled your repair, you’re almost there!"

Has anyone used one of these GS established partnerships for any repairs and what would be your assessment of how they did and the timeliness of any repairs?

GS 'used' to be highly regarded by RV'ers but not as much since they were bought by Camping World. I'd suggest referring to RVServiceReviews for your location and read the reviews by your peers for various shops. The review site sadly seems to have lost popularity over the years and newer reviews are harder to come by so if it's a review of a shop over 2 years old, it may be suspect. It's a play it by ear thing mostly now but I'd avoid any Camping World shop. I'd recommend posting a review at the above site link about where you do go though.

I also have Nat Gen and I'd rather choose my own shop if I need something. I do have some damage right now from negotiating a Mexican border crossing not long ago but haven't submitted a claim. Please come back and let us know how it went with them? Thanks.

Insurance companies have relationships lined up with service shops who are willing to do the work for the lowest amount possible. That should tell you something.

When I needed repair work before, I went with the shop in my area that did the best work and had the best reputation. It worked out well for me.

Hope you have good luck!
Chris
