Need HELP quick

Can anyone suggest a resource to find the value of motorhomes other than the NADA website?

I am getting CRAZy results there which I assume is the result of insufficient data, and the problem is most sellers are getting there information from there. I am shopping for a Itasca Navion 24J or the sister model Winnebago View 24J, essentially the same units.

What I have found on NADA for Navion Model Retail is: 2010=$50,100, 2011=$56,000, 2012=$61,000, 2013=$55,250, 2014=$59,800

For the View Retails are: 2010=$50,500, 2011=$46,300, 2012=$50,850, 2013=$55,750, 2014=$61,200

So, real problem is I am looking seriously at a 2012 Navion which NADA says retail is $61,900 and they are asking $59,000 BUT, if it were a View they would be using retail of $50,500 as their starting point. DIFFERENCE OF OVER $11,000, makes no sense!!!!
Also the Navion 2014 model being less than the 2012, makes non sense, or the 2011 worth more than the 2013 either.

And I've looked at 14's with less miles for less money, but can't get him to see this problem. So, need another source for values.

RV prices generally are what a buyer is willing to pay. NADA is a joke. When I went to sell my fiver NADA was so far off from what I ended up selling it for it wasnt even funny. Even for cars and trucks their values are way out of line. You have to decide if and what it might be worth to you, make that offer and be prepared to walk away. Like others mentioned look at RVtrader for comparisons. Also check out large dealers like PPL motor homes to compare.

Unlike with cars & pickups, there is no system that collects actual dealer sales data for RVs and no nationwide RV auctions to record wholesale prices either. That makes the NADA RV Guide an estimate at best. Furthermore, the availability of a given year & model is much less and prices vary far more widely than cars. Things like condition and seasonal demand also have a major effect. In other words, there is no well-defined value (price) and no right or wrong opinion. What the customer is willing to pay is of much more importance than any book value.

The way you deal with this is to negotiate what you are willing to pay. If the seller disagrees with your valuation, you either pay his price or shop elsewhere.

Are some sellers more proud of their RV than others? Sure. Do some have unrealistic expectations? Of course. Will any of them be persuaded by reason? Probably not many of them.

Here is one source of actual selling prices, but these are for consignment sales and are typically lower than what any dealer would accept. Owners who sell via a consignment sales lot are generally more interested in a quick and easy sale than getting top dollar for their RV.

You have received your answer from the previous posts.

If you are buying from a dealer, which is not clear, then he will be using information from "the Book," which is available only to members of the industry. This is why, when trading in a rig, every dealer offers nearly exactly the same amount on the trade--it's in "the Book." This is not NADA information but information from sales throughout the industry.

As others said, if this is a dealer, do your homework on advertised prices on the open market for like coaches, and offer what you feel is fair for the one from the seller. If he won't budge, move on. The same applies if it's from a private seller.

You will still find wide variations in prices that seem unreasonable, so a little more work as to why certain years command more is in order. For example, certain years may have problems with emissions or other features, or certain options are added or removed, making them more popular.

Do a lot of on-line hunting and you will get a "feel" for what is a fair price for the coach you are looking for.

Not intended to offend. I appreciate all responses. Was just noting that the link for price research tool on rvtrader goes to NADA
Sorry.

You are absolutely correct about the posted link. You will be much better served by perusing the "For Sale" ads within the website itself to get a sense of "value" for particular coaches.
