Need Help With Levelers

I was recently preparing my 2004 Damon Daybreak 3270 for an upcoming trip and the rear levelers wont retract all the way up?? It has been sitting for several months. Checked the hyd fluid and it was fine. Tried to raise and lower several times and it's the same thing, will lower fine but only retracts 5"-6". It is a Power Gear system. Any help or ideas??
Thanks

You might try cleaning them with WD-40, then wiping it off and lube with a silicon lube (or whatever the manufacturer recommends). Clean around the seal to ensure there isn't crud binding them. I assume you don't have spring retraction.

Welcome to the forum.

If these are Power Gear that have external springs that pull the legs up.

Extend them, spray the legs with WD40, silicon, hydraulic fluid, oil, grease, anything. The goal is to get some lubrication on the shafts.

Hit retract. They should come up. If not look at the control panel to make sure it didn't time out and shut off. If it shut off, just turn it back on and hit retract again.

If this doesn't work, use a shovel or long 2x4 and try to pry them up.

Need help with levelers

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I do have the spring assist on the levelers and I tried spraying with lubes and wiping off. Not sure I extended all the way out but I'll try that next. I may also try the 2x4...either to pry them up or beat myself over the head!!! Thanks.

clean them good, and exercise them. nothing destroys a leveling system quicker than not using them. use an engine degreaser, spray them off and clean with wd40. that works, unless the seals are bad.

These are single acting hydraulic cylinders. Hydraulic pressure going down. Springs pull them up.
My guess is there are electrical actuated plungers that push the ball off the seat when you hit retract on your control panel that allows the cylinder spring to push the fluid out of the cylinder back into the reservoir. Simple as that.
Try cleaning the rods thoroughly when fully extended and spraying with lube and trying to retract again. If that don't work try prying up from point of resistance. I assume springs look good and rods not bent?
