Need LED Fixture

I'd like to replace my side marker/turn indicators with LED's. I've searched high and low but I can't find a fixture with the same screw mounting points. Anyone know of an LED source for this light?

Why not just install a LED replacement for the lamp.
Keep the plastic, just change the incandescent lamp for a LED substitute.
If no substitute, then you could make one from other LED lamps?

Craig-

I understand the frustration... look at enough lights on enough Web sites and your eyes start to glaze over.

Here are the questions I use to find replacements.

1) What are the manufacturer and model of the original light?
Some lights have those stamped on the lens.
Sometimes the coach manufacturer will tell you.
2) What is the distance between centers?
3) What are the length and width of the light?
4) Does the light also function as a turn signal?
5) What kind of wiring connectors are used?
6) Does it require a mounting gasket or grommet?

The answer to question 1 often is all that's needed, unless the light manufacturer does not have drawings or documentation.

The original manufacturer of your light probably has a direct LED replacement. If not, scan the Peterson Manufacturing, Grote and Truck-Lite sites. They (and others) supply to the online retailers, like Iowa80, SuperbrightLEDs and etrailer.

Boy ain't that the truth! I didn't think about looking on the back of the lens, good idea. It's both a running light and signal indicator. It just screws into the RV body. Everything I've looked at mounts differently and requires a thick rubber gasket which I really don't want.

The OE socket fits a round based 1157 lamp. I've tried LED replacements from two different vendors and so far I've been disappointed in their performance. There was very little contrast between the running light and the turn signal. At $20 a bulb, I'm tired of experimenting. My brother however just installed some 1157 LED's in his motorcycle that he claims perform very well, so I may give them a try one last time. He got them from SuperBrightLEDs.com

Thanks.

Craig

I once watched a Cable TV show. 10 best CHROME SHOPS in the US.. Like the Iowa 80 (on I-80 in Iowa)

Chrome = BLING for trucks. These are super truck stops with shops that install all sorts of "Upgrades" Chrome this, LED that, and though I've only been to 3 of 'em.. I know the I-80 one had the largest selection of LED lighting of any store I've ever been in.

The 10 featured on the Show (All had basically the same selection) were scattered from the atlantic to the pacific, from South Carolina to .> not sure where one of 'em was but well I-80 is getting rather north.

My suggestion is visit a shop like this.. Take photos and measurements with you.

Option 2: Do not be afraid of a slightly LARGER lamp assembly.

Need LED Fixture

I tried the 1157 LED bulbs from SuperBrightLEDs that my brother recommended. Very good quality and good contrast between running light and turn signals. Problem solved.

Thanks everyone.

I looked at their site, which of their item #'s did you end up with.
Notice some stated the brightness, etc etc.....
On the inside, and non DOT outside lamps I have had good luck.
Or modified other lamps to make do.
Had a major problem off e-Bay with LED's going bad after +- 2 weeks 24x7.

I bought two of their 1157-A45-T bulbs in amber. They work great.
