need to glue dinette edges back down

Our dinette top (is it Formica?) on top of the wood/particle board(?), is mostly still perfect, but the glue on some of the edges where it bends down has disintegrated. So they are catching on clothing. I don't want to use Gorilla glue because it expands too much, and I'm not so sure about super blue whether it would hold on the 'wood'. I'm not going to try to replace the whole table or its formica(?) top, just want to repair for a few years.

Anybody have experience with this?
Thank you for your thoughts.

Gorilla glue makes another type of glue, that's what I used....Clear Gorilla Glue... I glued the surface and used painters tape to hold into place, wiped excess off. Done, well almost I removed the tape a couple days later.

They use Contact cement to attach Formica to wood. You can buy a small can with a brush. Wet both surfaces, wait about 10-15 minutes and then reattach.

X3. Often the old tried and true methods are hard to beat. In high school woodworking shop we used hot horse hoof glue on everything; but it requires clamping tight until dry. I made a table using it in 1957 and the table is still holding tight today.

It was probably a type of contact adhesive to begin with the new cement MEK solvent will wake up old stuff. Some Formica edging is actual heat to apply. This has a round hole screen look to the glue.
3M or other brand Auto clear trim adhesive will work . Handy stuff to have around and resistant to heat softening..

Giving a horse a "hot hoof" is an act of bravery in its own right.

One of my highschool text books on stage craft included making and using animal glues to 'size' muslin fabrics. Now that I think about it, those "books" are actually stone tablets...

I'm not older than dirt, but I think I remember it being piled up into hills. I worked hard to get this old, and I'm not leaving quietly.
