I am renting a 5th wheel and a buddy is bringing up his portable generator but the 50A connection on the generator looks like the welder set-up instead of RV set-up. He has a 50A cord that fits the generator and has 50A RV on the other end.
Does this look legit?

The 50 amps connector on that generator is a "CS" series, non-NEMA connector. The CS connector is common on "spider boxes" used for temporary power in building and construction, trade shows and exhibits, etc. It is a 3 pole, 4 wire connector for 120/240V service.
