I posted a short time ago about replacing my Penguin II unit and, from my experience, I concluded that a lot depends on your location and who you use to replace/order the unit.
My unit was replaced within two days of ordering. The shop from which I ordered had no difficulty getting the unit, though the first one sent was the wrong one. I had heard of stories of long delays, but I had no issues whatsoever.
Seeing the OP is in Canada, and not knowing if the replacement is through a dealer/warranty situation, it's quite possible that contributes to the delay. I was fortunate in that I live in a large market area and the shop has a great supply connection.
