New from Ontario, Canada - Rubber Roof

Hi,
We are rver's for some years (22). Just joined and look forward to shared experiences, info and problem solutions. Our RV is a Newmar 34' gas (Ford v10). Current issue I could use some info on is our rubber roof. It's in good shape but the white coating is wearing and I need to know what this really means. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Am I correct in thinking the roof is shedding white "stuff" when rain runs down the sides of the rig and that is what you call wearing? If so, I think that is common to all rubber roofs. Not to worry. IMHO

Can you elaborate or explain a little more... what do you mean or is the concern with "wearing"?
Is it really rubber? EPDM usually dark color or BriteTek which is whats on my Newmar DP Ventana and is white?
I dont know what Newmar used on their gasser line.
Either way what I have done with different MHs with both EPDM and Brite Tek is to clean using cleaner like dimpke green and a sponge mop / brush... rinse well and dry. Then apply 303 Aerospace Protectant with sponge mop of floor applicator pad.

If it's actually shedding, or wearing the white coating on the rubber, that is the protective layer for the rubber roof. I believe there are rubber roof coatings you can buy and recoat the roof, but again, I believe those coatings are normally temporary in nature, and will only buy you a couple more years of life.

The rubber roof type ; black with a white top coating ; is EPDM, proper cleaning of the roof and application of the correct recoat material , will add years to the lifespan on the rubber roof.
I did mine three years ago and everything still looks great.
