New tires+concrete=stains!

Learned a hard lesson today. Took my coach to winter storage & was left with 4 tire imprints on my nice concrete driveway. I had multiple home projects & then an injury which kept me from going RV'ing for 2+ months. It didn't even dawn on me the tires would leave marks.

First I tried scrubbing with a bleach/Simple Green solution, but that didn't work that well. An internet search on the subject said to try a degreaser. Even with Dawn & the Wash Wax All Degreaser, the photo below is the lightest I got the marks (that's one of the dually marks). They may lighten some more over the winter with the weather, but I'm not holding my breath, at least based on what I've read.

I guess it's off to WalMart to get some of those cheap/flexible cutting boards to put under the tires next year when I bring it back to my place so it doesn't do the same in the future.

I look for someone in the neighborhood getting new carpet and ask if I can have the old. Only use pieces without stains. Cut an appropriate size and flip upside down. Drive rv right onto the carpet. Haven’t had a tire mark on my painted rv floor in 4 years.

Most Rv tires I’ve seen don’t have outside tread lugs.

So, what does that mean & what does it have to do with my tire imprints?

Have you tried a power washer Lori? have to get the tip close and go slow.......

I haven't, but only because I don't have one. My neighbor has one. I'll see if I can borrow.

I get new tire tracks in each driveway every time I get the coach out and bring it around to the front driveway. They fade away with some time.

Lori: just so you'll know, what you have is some of the "oils" in your tires are leaching out and into the concrete. It isn't just an appearance issue, it also isn't good for the tires. Almost anything such as plywood, rubber mats, etc. can protect both the driveway and the tires from each other. Probably not necessary for just a short stopover, but highly recommended for longer term parking. You probably would have had the same issue over at Bella Terra with the new tires. I clean a lot of concrete with my pressure washer and I suspect pressure washing it will take those marks away.

I used some of this product on an Oil Stain. It took 2 applications, but you can't see where the stain was.

Thanks for the suggestions. I found a partial can of WD-40 engine degreaser in the garage (Dave musta bought it for something). I'll try them all & report back on what worked.

Not on a bus, but for a class C aggressive lugs are fine if you want to go "off-road" or beach driving once in awhile.
What I noticed (it could be the way the image was taken) was the tread pattern does not look even. Like the two wheels have a "toe-out" appearance, is it the sight line? I even took a ruler to the screen and confirmed what I see.






I am sorry I have no other suggestion to remove the marks other than a call to the manufacture may help?

For oil stains I have found that “Pour-N-Restore” has worked pretty well. May take a few applications.
I don’t know for sure, but assume it might help draw out the oils deposited by the tires.

Nothing but have you tried a pressure washer?
