My ice maker has started leaking. Works fine but over a couple of days there will be an icecicle hanging down on below the box part and one coming up from the floor of that compartment, left side as you're looking at it. Any thoughts on what to look for, control valve, etc.
Thanks
Dave

You will need to replace the water valve as it has started to weep through the valve like a dripping faucet. If you fill the bucket with ice and the ice maker sits for long enough period of time the nozzle through the back wall will freeze solid and you will have to defrost it and replace valve before it will work again. The ice maker module control the water valve operation and should energize it for about 2 seconds at the end of a harvest cycle.

Thanks Mike
That's what I suspected. We were at a site last week with water hookups and it leaked worse than it had earlier. Couple of weeks ago we were at a rally with no hookups and every now and then the water pump would cycle for a second or two. Thinking it was the ice maker just filling I checked it a couple of times and it had hard ice in the tray ready to be ejected. I'm assuming that is a totally 12v system since it works without AC or the inverter?
Thanks
Dave

A weeping solenoid water valve is one possibility and adjusting the amount of water introduced is another. The latter on a Dometic which I have is adjusted at the ice maker itself. The solenoid valve is 120V on a Dometic. What I would do is have water in the line at pressure either from the water pump or city water pressure with the refrigerator off. See if water keeps dripping out of the ice tray.

Only the newest ice makers in these refrigerators will have a 12 volt dc coil and work without 120 volt ac. The refrigerator will operate without 120 volt ac but 95% + ice makers will need it. Adjustments will not stop weeping. The adjustment is for getting 8 oz. of water into the mold based on the water pressure.

RV Wizard
Thanks again. Changed out the valve, got one at a local appliance parts store, it was a Maytag part by the way. Pretty simple job actually. Making ice but still have just a very slight drip, maybe more of an ooze. Now my question, this valve takes 120V AC to operate as stated on the tag. I thought it was 12V. When the coach is unplugged, fridge running on propane, no inverter on, nothing. where does the AC power come from? When you turn on the fridge does that activate the inverter? I'll do some checking with a multi-meter today when I go to the storage building.
This has got me thinking/wondering and that can be dangerous.
