Onan 7500 GenSet - Maintainance??

While having oil & filters changed, the shop advised I should plan on "heavy" maintainance next time. In particular that would be all hoses and belts. "Uncovering" the genset would be required. It rolls out (Monaco) so total removal from the MH shouldn't (my words) be required.
Has anyone changed the hoses and belt(s)?? How big a project?
Next oil change will be over 1,000 total hours on this diesel unit.
Harold Miller
PS - Their estimate was $800-1,100 dollars

I did a "full" maintenance on mine last year, at almost 1100 hours. All the filters and fluids were changed, including coolant, but the drive belt still looked like new and so did the hoses. I decided to leave them alone. I didn't change the radiator cap either.

The drive belt was a pain to even get an eyeball on - it is at the very back of the 7500 and you have to remove all the covers to get anywhere near it. Unless the generator slide comes really far out, you probably cannot do it without removing the genset either.

Maybe I'll regret not changing the belts and hoses some day, but for now I am happy. And I've put another 12 months and 90 hours on the genset since then too.

Don't forget about cleaning the spark arrester system... Not a fun job in and of itself. I'd make sure it is specifically on the work order...
