Onan Pick-up Tube

The Onan generator on my 2005 Holiday Rambler Ambassador will quit running when I still have more than one-half tank of fuel. Is it possible to adjust the length of the pick-up tube so it will run down to one-quarter tank? Also, could it be I have a hole in the tube causing the generator to suck air?

I have had a '02 and a '07 Endeavor. I have lengthened the diesel generator pickup on both. I am not sure which chassis you have but hopefully the fuel fill door panel can be opened easily. On the top of the fuel tank the generator fuel line is the smaller of the lines. remove the hose and then screw out the pickup. My '02 was a steel pipe and the '07 was a plastic tube. If you get this far take some measurements on the tank and adjust the length of the pickup accordingly. Keep in mind when dry camping about the modifications you have made.

Thanks. Mine is on a Roadmaster chassis. I will check this out when my coach comes back from having new fabric installed on my slide toppers.

Same problem

We have an 03 Dolphin, recently purchased, with same problem. I thought I would have to drop the tank. Hopefully observer's solution will work for us. Let you know.

Same problem, my 32' Georgetown is on a workhorse chassis. Has anyone attempted this fix, and is access only from top of tank, or is there access from inside floor also?
