Outdoor Power Outlet Cover

Hey guys, I am trying to find a replacement for my AC outlet that is on the side of my 2003 Winnebago Chalet.
Can I update to a newer model or do I have to use the same model?

I did buy one of these not knowing, but it wont work as a replacement.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks!

If you want to change the weatherproof cover, you will first need to install a different receptacle. That will require installing a new 2"x 4" box for the receptacle (plug). All the pieces are cheap at any big box hardware store.

My first try would be Lichtsinn Motors, 800-343-6255, in Forest City near the factory. Ask for RV parts, and have your coach s/n ready. They have never failed me in getting the right part.

I had this exact same problem. The old part is no longer available. The cover that you bought will work well but you also need to replace the electrical receptacle with Winnebago part number 178666-01-000.

(Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/wesco-sc080-s.../dp/b00x6c72au )

Be sure to disconnect shore power, generator off, and inverter off so that you have no AC power going to the outlet. If you are uncomfortable working with electricity that can kill you have a qualified person replace the outlet.

I find a few on Amazon, though most in black; alternate might be a local dealer, or ebay, or a can of KRYLON SPRAY PAINT? https://www.amazon.com/s?k=exterior+...ref=nb_sb_noss

Don't use regular spray paint. Get spray paint designed for use in plastic. I normally get it at an auto parts store.
