I live in Sebring FL. I had a contractor make my pad from crushed shell rock. Levels nicely and sets up firm. I added these mats under the tires. Cut off one row for the front and used the double row for the rears. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Gets moisture from under the tires and lets air circulate. Can't hurt during the long FL rainy season. Thanks for your service.

Crushed/ packed/rolled limestone gravel, 6-inch deep?

Option #1: Crushed stone or cobblestone over a well-drained base. The need for a drainage base will vary with the local ground conditions, e.g. sandy vs clay.

Option #2: lay 4" thick solid concrete blocks on a bed of sand, either just short strips set where the wheels will rest or the entire pad.


I used #2 for a couple of trailers and 3 different motorhomes, moving the bed of blocks to accommodate the wheel position for each new rig.

I had some white rock dumped under the RV port some 20 years ago. After spreading, it probably averaged about 2 inches deep overall. It's held up very well with me not ever having to do anything more to it. I park with full weight of tires on the ground which hasn't hurt the tires any.

Having said that, the OP's soil condition might require extra measures such as a building up the subsurface or putting down a deeper layer of rock.
