Passenger seat not reclining
Our coach is in the shop for a few issues, one being the passenger seat wont recline. Shop called and said its a 4 hour job just to remove the seat to get at the motor. Also he said they needed to remove it to see what the numbers were on the motor. He said that was the issue btw. I trust the shop because they have never done anything without warning me exactly what it will cost. Does anyone understand why it will take 4 hours to take off the seat? Another 4 hours back on? Plus the new motor. That sounds like a $1000 job with the shop rate at over $100 if I’m lucky.

I don't know how your seat is attached or what all is involved, but I had to remove the seat in our Allegro RED to fix a pinched wire. It took all of ten minutes to take it out, twenty to repair the wire, and ten minutes to bolt it back down. Eight hours to take out and remove a seat sounds extremely excessive to me. How do they know it's the motor and not just a wiring problem?

They may not be crooks. They just may not know what they are doing on this job. I worked on many seats in fifteen years. 90% of the time it was a wiring problem. Moving the seat around all the time tends to pull the wires. At most, this should be a 2 hour job.

Our seats require four bolts to be released and the wiring disconnected under the seat.
15 minutes tops for a knowledgeable technician.
Of course another 15 will be need to re-install the seat.
I agree with other posts, our problems have been fuse or wiring related, not the motor.

Had the same problem. Turns out the electrical connection was loose - attached but not squeezed on
. Before I spent that kind of cash, I would be looking closer.

Did the same and replaced the foot rest motor and main seat switch in probably two hours since it ran into coffee break
