Patio awning replacement

After 18 years my motorhome patio awning with sun shield is in serious need of replacement. The original A&E awning is an acrylic material, and according to info I have, for use in hot, windy weather, acrylic fabric is preferred over vinyl. If you have replaced yours, what fabric did you use, and why?
Also, any recommendations as to who to buy from?

I still have the original A&E fabric on our coach. Try this place for replacement. https://www.shadepro.net/product-cat...-replacements/

We had a marine canvas business for about 15 years. In that time we restitched & replaced zippers in quite a few bimini tops that were 15 to 20 years old. Pacific Blue Sunbrella would still be in good shape with no fading at all. Other Subrella colors would have good fabric, but some colors (like red or burgandy) would be faded. Vinyl fabrics only last 5-6 years before the UV does them in.
So if you want an awning that lasts, have it made with acrylic fabric and sewn with Teflon thread. Choose either blue, black, or beige for the color.

When we had to replace the awning from wind damage this past January in Phoenix we went with the fabric. We also had the Alumin shield had to protect it while rolled up and traveling. We think it was well worth the extra cost for the shield.

Same here, I got mine from ShadePro. Shipped very quickly, only $200 with free shipping for an 18 foot shade. Installed it myself.

I highly recommend Stone Vos. They have a high-quality acrylic fabric that I believe is probably the best on the market. They were able to perfectly match the fabric on our 2002 Windsor. Great people to work with!

Too late! Ordered Monday and received yesterday. Still in plastic wrap, but if ordering, and receipt is an indicator, I feel good. Will know more tomorrow when I have it installed.
