Power Gear jacks
Hi to all....I have the power gear levelers and the back drivers side seems to have lost some of its power when lifting the coach. It will not lift as high as others do. I can hear the difference in the motor when putting down the jack versus the other jacks. I will admit I have some leaking in the lines but not just to that jack. It seems to me that a leaking line would not have anything to do with the motor not as stong as others. Any thoughts would help.

Make sure grounds to frame are good and fix the leaks, fluid level is for a reason.

You could be running out of fluid about the time that jack has been extended that much. You probably have air in the line too.

The fluid reservoire is full as I have already checked and topped off, but you are probably right about the air in line. When I said lines are leaking, I meant they are dripping only when extended and it only drips a very little but always stops after couple of days of being extended. Having said that, I think if I replace that line I would get results.

There is only one "motor" in a hydraulic jack system - it runs the hydraulic pump that generates the pressure to all the jacks. Ergo the 'motor" must be ok if other jacks are working ok. You could have a bad valve for that one jack, or more likely just that leak you are talking about is sapping its lift capacity.

If you have air in the system, it can be bled by cycling the levelers several cycles.

when you say cycling several times...does that mean extending and retracting?

Yes. Extend fully and retract fully several times. Make sure you are on level ground and use wheel chocks in case it lifts the coach off the ground. Good luck and keep us posted.

Should I cycle all 4 jacks or just the one I am having problems with?

Do them at least in pairs (front, back or same sides) or all, so as not to twist the frame and do damage to the coach.
