Power Gear Slideout Problem

I have a 2000 Pace Arrow Vision with Power Gear electric slideouts. Major slideout has worked flawlessly. But the bedroom slide keeps breaking shear pins (4 in past two years) and it's costing me $200 $300 each repair. No technician can identify any problem that would cause this. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a solution,?

There is either a current limiter or a limit switch that is out of adjustment or faulty. The drive mechanism is being over torqued and causing the pin to shear. Go HERE to contact the manufacturer.

Only the obvious... Learn how to change the shear pin yourself, then it will be fixed for a dollar instead of 2 or 3 hundred. while you're under there, you just might spot what's binding up.

Without seeing the mechanism and inspecting for binding it is nearly impossible to say what the cause is. Do you have a slide out topper on this slide out? It could be contributing to the cause and not the slide out itself. Have a qualified technician find out the running load amperage of the motor with the slide out topper spring tension as it is and when a couple of turns are take out. Good luck and keep us posted.

Does the room seal correctly all the way out and all the way in.
