PowerTech 17.5 Fuel Filter Change

Hello everyone

I recently became involved with a family that is working on an older RV that has a PowerTech 17.5 diesel generator. We've changed the oil and filter but I'd like to change the fuel filter as we have no record of it being changed. In the past I've seen guys remove the old one, fill the new one with clean diesel and screw it on. Will this work on this generator? I downloaded an older manual, but the procedure isn't clear.

Thank you so much!

I have a 17.5 Power Tech and always fill the new fuel filter with diesel. I have two so I do this with both.

Thank you! Will it crank right up or is there another step involved?

Usually it will start and die one time and then will run fine thereafter.
