Nothing electrical in a diesel generator, just avoid the air intake and alternator. Set the pressure on low and warm the engine up fully before using the washer. You can add soap if your washer has that feature and it won't hurt anything.

Remember where it states in the owners manual to avoid pressure washing the electronics in your engine area, especially the ECM? Getting water into the actual 120VAC generator is like that, and wash while running___better have deep pockets.

i hosed down everthing i've ever owned with a LOW PRESSURE soap and water system - lawmowers, motorcycles, golfcarts, leaf blower, jeep, car, rv diesel engine and generator. i've never had a problem - yet... i guess could just be lucky or it could be because i'm using lower pressure - obviously try to keep away from electronics and air intake. Using power washer around engines makes me a little nervous. i use a water hose with attachment. i would consider power washer if i could turn it way down i think.

How would water around an injector cause problems? They are sealed, water cannot enter the combustion chamber. The DC wiring is sealed too. I've pressure-washed my Duramax engine many times and it never has failed to start immediately afterwards. I simply make sure I protect the major electronics from direct spray, as directed in the owners manual.
Same applies to my diesel tractors.

I bet the diesel engine has some electrical items...the generator for sure. Wrap and seal any electrical items. Spray down with an engine degreaser let set and wash with a gentle water stream...BUT NEVER a pressure washer.
