Progressive Insurance gone nuts?
Just had my renewal notice in by e-mail today. Last year I was chocked by the increase in price, but this year it is even worse!!! A lot worse.
28% more expensive than last year. What is wrong with them? Nothing has gone up by 28% in the past 12 month and I doubt very much that Progressive have had a 28% increase in cost on RV insurance expenses. What are they up to?
Did you all have an increase this size on your last insurance premium?

Like you, Progressive just gave me my renewal. It was about 30% higher than the last premium. Flo must be getting paid a bunch of $s, they think we are made of money or are too dumb to use the Internet to check the competition. Just about every other company is $500+ cheaper than Progressive. I chose to renew with Liberty Mutual.

Last year there was a thread about this. I checked mine (Progressive) and there was no increase. I am now with GEICO (same as my cars) and they are half as much as Progressive was. Partially due to the multi car discount I am getting.

Danes, We have Autoclub and have not seen steep increases in premiums.

Guilty as charged - that was also me.
I got a 25% increase last year and I didn't like it. Now I get a 28% increase the year after and, surprise, I don't like that either. I don't object to increases that are in sync with normal inflation etc but +25% one year and +28% the following year is hard to justify I would have thought!

Call them up to complain. They immediately backpedaled and my premium is just about what it was last year. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I had Progressive Insurance for years on my motorhome and in 2005 they increased it $800. I had had no claims, no tickets, no accidents. I called their home office and was told they were increasing the premiums on all policies so I canceled and went with National Interstate which was $950 cheaper than Progressive.
Last month my policy was due and I got a quote from Progressive. They were only $600 higher than National Interstate so maybe Progressive is improving their pricing.

Best way to treat this sort of price gouging is to take your check book somewhere else.

We have had Progressive Insurance for many years. We renewed our insurance in March and the premium went down a few dollars. I adjusted the Collision replacement to reflect current replacement value. We had never changed it since we purchased it. Had we not done that the premium would have been much higher. We have always been happy with them.

I dropped Progressive last Oct due to the hugh increase in price. I went to Geico with my autos and it was about 30% of the Progressive price.
BTW, I never had a claim.

I just received our renewal. from Progressive. It went up 17%...$1212. to $1418.
My deductible went down on their disappearing program from $1000 to $750. Our insured value is 110K. I have one violation,,,,,no left turn in 2008. . My only ticket in 17 years, but it is hurting me here and with my autos.
I may have to shop some prices. When we first insured in 2004 we paid $780.

Digging further into my bill:
Liability went up 20% $68 to $81
Medical payments went down 20%...it was a buck
Comprehensive went up 50% $700 to $1044. Are owners burning their rigs?
Collision went up 1%
This year I get a $156 discount for paying in full. They didn't give me that option last year.
So our biggest hike was comp, with a stated value.

I bet with a motorhome that is where most of the claims are. Quite a few coaches are destroyed by fire, hail storms and trees falling on them. We just received our Progressive bill and it went up about 28% also. We have an active claim to repair damage from a tree falling on us a few weeks ago so we felt uneasy about shopping around at this time.

Could these rate increases be due to the area of the country the rv is parked?
