We are talking about one more go around with another MH. Maybe A, maybe a C either way gas and in the 30 ft range. Looking at what the dealers have and to some extent what is optional I wonder about ordering from a local dealer and picking the unit up at the factory. Does anyone know how feasible this is? Ditto what kind of deals can be made.

I've heard if you want too do that send your "build sheet" to several dealers so you can get a price. Most should do this for a nominal fee since there isn't much work involved. Easy money for them. Why buy new, it's so much money? Get one 3-5 yrs old and save like 45% over new...

Might check out Nexus. We just purchased a 2013 Nexus Phantom 28P that's around 30' and I highly recommend them. The quality is top notch! I was expecting a few issues on our first trip but everything worked flawlessly. You can deal directly with the manufacturer and customize to your liking.

Nexus seems to be the new kids on the block Indiana Florida and California I ordered a 28 phantom and will be picking it up in three weeks maybe excited all I have right now are pictures of it can't wait to actually drive it and use the hell out of it

You still buy through a dealer but do the pick-up instead of having it delivered. Not all manufacturers allow customer pick-up, and those who do generally charge extra for doing the delivery process at the factory. It may be worth it, though. I've heard that American Coach does a fabulous job of it, providing a couple days time with a tech team that makes sure everything meets your satisfaction.

As for ordering, it's no different than any factory order. The dealer works through the build options with you and you negotiate a price for that rig. When you agree, he places the order and you wait. Some manufacturers will allow you to view it on the line, others do not.

I believe Tiffen will allow you to watch your MH being built from the ground up. Think it's about a two week process if I remember right then you drive it home.
