Purchasing and upgrades

hello all, i am in the process of piurchasing a 04 safari trek from private party. I want to install an oven under the stove top or else where if easier. Has any one done this?

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I've never done that but I don't think it would be a huge job if you're a pretty good handyman. You would need to find a good cabinet shop to work with you on the project. The first problem would be finding an RV oven to fit the space, possibly from one of the RV salvage yards.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Have you thought about a microwave with convection oven? (If you are able to stay connected to a 110 volt power source)

They seem to work better than the RV ovens.

Before doing so, you might want to ask some RV owners about their experience using such RV propane ovens. Very few people actually use them for anything other than pot and pan storage, as they tend to perform very poorly as ovens. You are likely better off using the convection oven that originally came with the Trek.

We had a LP oven in our Class C. We seldom used it for cooking but for storage. We did install a small toaster oven that worked pretty good. In fact we moved into our current DP.

Ovens are over rated in an RV. I never used mine in the 5'er or the TT. My Class A has a convection microwave that does everything an oven would do but better.
