Question about Cabela's water

I'm sitting at a Cabela's dump station and they only have one faucet and it is painted blue. Does that mean it is safe to put in my freshwater tank? I'm not sure I'm comfortable with it. What would you guys do? BTW, I drink the water that goes in my tank

I would never fill from faucet at dump station regardless of how it is labeled.

Guess you could ask if it is city water....or from a well. (And then buy a few gallons of supermarket spring water and use it as needed for drinking/cooking)....regardless of the answer.

Good choice. The Cabela's near me has a big sign saying it is NOT potable water. And like others say, I doubt I'd use the water near a dump station as potable water.

They usually have a potable water source, but sometimes it is across the parking lot and easily missed. If the hose is near the hole I never fill my tanks with it.

Here is the sign at the Cabelas that I stayed at last year.........
Was there no sign at the dump station?
I am sure it is fresh city water that also goes into their bldg's........but they don't want to have to monitor/test it for fresh drinking water.........they would have to if they offered "Drinking Water".

Do all Cabela's have the dump stations? Never noticed them before at my store......probably wasn't looking for them either....
Not trying to hijack this thread but as a new MH owner, what might some of the places be that allow you to dump your black water while on the road? I know driving into a camp ground and paying their fee will work just wondering what other options there might be..

Flying J's is a spot we use a lot while filling up. Not all have them but many do.
Also if you are lucky some states have them at rest stops.

City water or well water, you still don't want to drink it if it's from the hose by the dump station.
