Hey everyone, been gone since Dec, when my Cruise Master's engine destoried itself. And the repairs would cost as much as the coach was worth. So we had to dump it for next to nothing.
Now, we are looking at a 2008 (new) 40' Sportcoach Legend. We have been approved for this unit, but, before we take the unit, I would like to ask if anyone out there has any information about it. It comes with a 425hp cummins, and all air ride. We have test drove it, and it rides very nice. So, if anyone out there can give me there dimes worth of knowelge, it would help me make up my mind.
Thanks

Have you looked at anything else? In that price range there are many fine coaches available. Before you buy, compare it to the Allegro Bus models. You're not all that far from Red Bay, AL. If you can take the time, take a day run over there and tour the factory. Watch them being built.

Hi historyljc,
I am also interested in a 36' 2008 Phaeton also, with a price of 162,400. I haven't test drove it yet. But, with the Sportscoach, they are offering 4.99% interest. The Phaeton interest rate is 6.99%. The Sportscoach discounted price is 202,000. It may be a better deal. I do have friends that own Tiffins, they all love theres. This is why I am trying to find someone who owns a Sportscoach. This way I might get a better way to think this out.

It is hard to compare apples and oranges. I can say that the quality of the Tiffin line is better than Sportscoach models. I would suggest you take your time, continue to do research and look at all your options. Good luck and keep us posted.

I wouldn't let financing rates even enter into the equation. You can always get your own, often at a better rate than either. The only questions to ponder are: 1. which is the best coach. 2. which one can you handle the best. 3. Which floor plan fits your requirements the best. And 4. Which one can you truly get for the best price.
The best way to find the lowest bottom line price is always to be willing to walk away. There are a million other coaches out there! JMHO!!

I looked at them about a year ago and considered moving to a DP. But, after spend the better part of the afternoon looking at the entry level version to the top of the line version I decided to keep my 04 Newmar Mountain Aire Gas unit.
The quality wasn't there compared to my current coach.
Me, I would go for the Tiffin and refinance if necessary.

For my own benefit, can you tell me which engine you had in the Cruise Master, year and miles, and what happened to it? Any idea why?
Thanks,

Greetings!
In monitoring the forums over the last six years, Sportcoach is NOT one of the diesel coaches that on most peoples final list.
We bought a used Dutch Star and have been VERY happy with it. It has been almost problem free the five years we have had it.

Thanks everybody for your input, I would trust you folks more than any sells person.
We are more in favor of the Phaeton, more than the Sportscoach.
This is for Blackie.shooter (Ken & Carolee), I had a V10, that ended at 120k miles. If you look back in the listings of 2007, I gave a running account that I had with over heating, and the finial out come. The main problem ended up being the rad., which is what caused both heads to destory them selves and cracked block. So, check back last years listings and you will see everything that I did and the finial outcome. It even got the fan clutch working again.
Thanks,
Jack
