Code 27 is also common for FAILING/ INTERMITTENT FUEL PUMP. After GEN stalling, allow engine to cool (for fire safety) and (Fire Extinguisher HANDY/ in-hand), use carburetor bowl drain screw and drain carb bowl and see if low/ empty? NO restart until Cooled (20-minutes +/-) is also typiclal of bad fuel pump. LUCK... p.s. after new PUMP installed, run GEN 2-hours under load to TEST new pump/ verify problem/s gone.

About 4 years ago I replaced the fuel pump after experiencing problems with the generator failing to start or stalling.

In this case, the generator starts just fine and will continue to run with the front AC and Microwave running etc without a glitch, it's just when I try and turn the breaker on for the rear AC unit that it stalls.

In an effort to further isolate the problem I disconnected the wire from the circuit breaker in the coach service panel to that AC unit (capped it) and then ran the generator with circuit breaker turned on. I received 120v and the generator continued to run.

So, I suspect the problem whatever it is to be 'upstream' from the panel to the AC unit. Start capacitor in the AC unit?

Have you changed Genset filters? A short should trip the breaker, not stall the generator. The fact that the generator will make power when it is at less than full load doesn’t eliminate it as the problem.

It sounds to me like you may have 2 problems.

Excessive draw on the AC #2, and the generator is running lean.

A plugged fuel filter, weak fuel pump or partial blockage in the carburetor main jet will cause the lean running condition. Running lean will cause low power and over heating, so with the extra load from the AC #2, the generator stalls.

If you have full power with the generator, it should simply cause the breaker to trip.

Just my 2 cents.

Unplanned Tourist: Good, valid Points, but a few (possible) alternates: 1) Breaker contacts welded shut by arcing (YES, it happens) so... 2nd RECOMMENDATION is working farthest away first, make sure all breakers will turn off and turn off the power when in the OFF position.... a good emplOyee/ friend (almost) killed himself when he FORGOT to test w/ voltmeter after turning off a big 480v/3p breaker years back... anD 1 phase was welded shut and knocked him down when he applied a tool... others had shoes/ feet blown off and/or killed them.

Maybe (ONE OF= #1 Only) has the $250 "Soft Start Kit"; #2 did not, so it tripped the 15a house breaker?
