I've never used gloves for fueling or dumping in 50 years. I always grab one of the paper windshield towels, if available, and wipe up any excessive mess on the nozzle, but rarely find that to be an issue. I then use the towel under the nozzle so when it kicks off, no spillage. While filling, I occasionally wash the windshield, but I do go into a bay where I keep my fuel additive. I use a small towel, kept with the additive, to make sure I don't spill any of the additive.
I watch where I walk and when I'm done, I have a tub of hand wipes and a box of blue paper towels I keep in the entry step storage. I wipe my hands well with the hand wipes and reenter the coach. I just don't like dealing with gloves while handling credit cards, bay doors, windshield washing equipment etc.
Each person should do what they feel is best for them, but I don't have germaphobe issues, still use campground water and drink from the hose.

I'll agree that since Covid 19 more and more germaphobes are out in abundance.
I do not use gloves for dumping but I do use waterproof gloves for diesel fueling as I do not like the oily residue on my hands.

Yes. This is what I do. Out of curiosity why does the OP not want to use disposable gloves? Perhaps there is something about them and fuel that I should know.

I prefer reusable gloves for fueling. I don’t worry about germs I just want to keep the smell off my hands.
I use disposables for the sewer. My pre covid supply was being stretched to the limit. Walmart finally got some of their brand in. Usually I buy them on Amazon but they have not only gone up in price they are difficult to get.
