removing starter from onan 4000 emeral plus

I am trying to remove starter from onan 4000 Emeral Plus generator. I have removed a metal plate from the back (gen set still in coach) and can get to the starter without removing the gen set. I have the two bolts out but the starter doesn't seem to loosen up nor back off the motor. Anyone had any experience removing a gen starter and if so any helpful advise, or would there be something else holding it? I can feel no other bolts around it. Need help please. thanks
Tom

Had the same thing on my previous coach, bolts were out but did not want to come out. Get a piece of wood or a hammer handle up against it and whack the wood good and hard. It will pop free, Amazon has reasonable replacements.

Most likely it's got a little rust making it stick. Try hitting it with the ball your hand.

thanks a heap Brockx and Charlie, guess I just haven't tapped it enough, I have sprayed WD-40 on it, will try the wood block. I used a piece of pipe on it with a hammer. I'll spray some more and pray some more! thanks again

Mine was corroded, aluminum on aluminum is not always the best thing.

I got the starter off and pretty easy after advise from you guys . the starter checks out bad, now where to buy a starter. I found DB Electrical on internet and found the starter I need model 191-2132 for $35.60. Has anyone ever bought from this company? and does this sound like too good of a price? they say its brand new. Where has anyone had good luck with purchasing onan starter? thanks for any help

Bought a starter from DB (191-2158) in February. Good response from them and starter seems noticeably stronger than the original. Onan 6500 LP genny.
