Replace Attwood G6A-8E Hot water unit with Girard 2GWHAM

The Girard has wiring that wants just 12v pos and neg. The Atwood has 3 wires Brown, blue and green. The RV has wires Yellow, Black and Blue. I have not found any wiring diagrams that tell me where the RV wires come from or when they are alive! Right now I am not getting any voltage from any of the 3 RV wires! I had expected the RV black was neg and both the blue and Yellow were pos.

Should I just run a pos and neg from the coach battery to the new Girard tankless hot water tank.

Any suggestions would be most welcome!

I have a new water pump to get in, a new cat to replace the one stolen, a shield to make to protect the cat from being stolen again and get ready for a fishing trip with my grandson this Friday!

Brown was 12VDC POS from ON/Off Switch
Green was 12VDC NEG
**Blue was 12VDC from circuit board to Fault light

RV..... Yellow, Black and Blue
Did you mark which RV wires connected the the Atwood wires??

When disconnecting did you turn DC Power off/pull fuse for the water heater?
If not probably blew the fuse

Black could be DC POS
Yellow could be DC NEG
Blue?????????


If you run New DC POS & NEG........Fuse the POS near the Battery Connection
Check fuse requirement for tankless
