Replacement bunk mattresses

My teenagers are complaining about the mattresses in their bunks so it's time for a change. They are 30 x 71 so it looks like they'd have to be custom. The only thing I could find was mattress insider that makes a custom that will fit (other than some unknown brands on Amazon). I can probably get away with a 72" length but the 30" width is max. Any experiences is helpful. Thanks in advance.

Can you buy some memory foam and cut it down.

Back in our bunkhouse days, when our daughter traveled with us, we had to get new mattresses as well... We had our bunk mattresses made at a store called "The Original Mattress Factory". I gave them the dimensions and they made the mattress...

I'm sure there are other places that do this same thing...

Interestingly, mattresses seem to be one of those things that might be made in Your Fair City. My community of roughly 350k has a local shop that makes private label goods for several local stores (and some name brands, too). There is probably one near you.

Also take a look at the existing mattresses and find the "do not remove under penalty of law" tag. It will tell you who made it. They or a successor are probably still in business.

A thicker memory foam topper cut to fit both might work well too and still use the spring base ,unless springs are totally dead. Or a larger foam mattress cut into two. An over stock , returns warehouse near me house has good deals on foam toppers and mattresses. Many of my friends bought theses there.
