Replacing A/C gasket

I need to install a new air conditioner roof gasket on my Newmar Mountain Air. It is a ducted system. Do I just undos the four bolds under the AC cover on the roof and tilt it up on it side to get to the gasket? Do I need to unhook any wires? The as unit is a Penguin 11 Dometic

If the gasket is a continuous piece then your going to have to undo the wiring. The gasket won’t fit over the whole unit.

I would download the installation manual for the unit, then follow the installation directions in reverse order. You may be able to skip some steps, but at least you’ll see the order for things for installation.

And yes, you undo the 4 bolts from inside the coach after removing the bezel cover. Be careful when snapping out the two screw caps - they break easily and I couldn’t find replacements without buying whole new bezels (which were prettier anyway - not to mention that if your units don’t have the quick cool vent, a new bezel with the vent is not that much more expensive).

On my older Kountry Aire after taking the cover off I could see the wires to disconnect easily, they go through the "return" air part. After that it's just the four bolts.
Though I can pick up a Penguin or a Brisk unit by myself it's seriously WAY easier for two people. With two you can just lift straight up and move it to one side. Then tilt it up as you like and also get the area where it was clean more easily. I have a rubber roof and laid down cardboard for mine to rest on while working.

You may want to check with Newmar on the gasket. Newmar uses a custom gasket on some models.

Yes, after removing the AC cover you just undo the 4 bolts from the roof. As spk64 said, You will also need the special Newmar only gasket PN 52715. About $8.00 each sipping included.
