I want to replace the wallpaper in our 1995 Mtn. Aire. Unit was preowned and may have been stored in warm area hence some of the glue has dried out & paper is wrinkled and bubbled. I am planning to use prepasted wallpaper. Any advice would be welcome.

Does the paper peel off? If not use a knife and score it (be careful not too hard) and rent a steamer to get it off. Even though the paper is prepasted, I'd use glue too. Unless you are not going to be where it is hot and moist. Because if you are it could loosen too. Good luck

I doubt your MH has wallpaper. It is probably a prefinished wall board. I dont think it can be removed like wallpaper. Caution!!

I never thought about that. Hey if it is like that there is a chance it got water under it

Don't cover up leaks with wallpaper

Have you thought of asking Newmar about the wallpaper that is currently on the unit? they can certainly tell you what they instaled at the time the unit was built.

We have put up new paper in a MH with great sucess. The stuff put up by the manufacturer is probably a vinyl cover wall board. Where it has puckered and pulled, you will need to use a razor blade and slit these areas and reglue them so that they are flat again. It will take some patience and trimming. We used the Vinyl to Vinyl wall paper border paste. We used the prepased vinyl paper and followed the instructions for wetting it, but coated it with the vinyl to vinyl paste as well.

Never had any trouble with it coming loose. Working in a small area like an RV can be a challenge, so set up a cutting and pasting table outside and carry the booked paper in as you need it. Ther is a lot of cutting and trimming, so just go slow and keep your trim knife sharp.

You need to make sure the glue you use will hold up under the extreme heat changes in a motorhome - much more of a swing in temperatures than inside your home.

Like to add that we lived in Houston at the time and the MH was stored out doors, so it did get hot inside. That is why we used the Vinyl to Vinyl paste to ensure good adhesion. In the two years we had the MH after we did the wall paper, it did not come loose. This was in the kitchen and dinette. We also did a border in the bedroom and if stayed stuck.

One thing we did did was to very thourly clean the wall covering first and did rough it slightly with a 200 grit sand paper.

I don't know if we lucked out or just did Ok due to ignorance, but it worked for us.
