Retracting stairs, not retracting
I have a 2010 Newmar Dutchstar. The outside stairs will not retract. I replaced the control module at a cost of $248.90 total. Did not work. Any ideas.

There are three fuses, door switches and other items to check on a Kwikee stair system .
Lots to do before you buy parts.

Dorry,
Check to see if the magnet is missing from the inside of your door. That triggers a switch to let the stairs know when to deploy and retract.
Hope this helps.

The alignment on the magnetic door switch is quite critical. If it gets a little bit off, the switch will not function.

We had to replace the plastic clutch part in the gear box. Now the stairs work perfectly. Thank you for your help!

Thank you everyone for your ideas. We replaced the plastic parts in the gear box, the gear itself was still fine but we replaced it also. The stairs work fine now.

Glad you solved your problem, and especially glad you posted your solution so others with similar issues have another place to look for help!
