Does anyone have a product that tackles roof stains? I would like to get my roof back to white before I wax it again.

Is it a rubber roof?

You can use a fairly strong bleach solution on rubber and mix it with a good detergent as well (first check the label to make sure bleach can be mixed). Pine tree sap can be removed with isopropyl alcohol.

Despite the hype you will find on numerous RV sites, it is permissible to use mineral spirits sparingly to remove some stains or gunk, but do not allow it to soak in. Mineral spirits will loosen the glue that bonds the rubber to the roof, so use it as a last resort only. Just dampen a cloth with it and rub the spot - do not pour it on or soak the spot.

I believe that you Adventurer has a fiberglass roof. Any good marine fiberglass cleaner should do the trick for you. On mine, last year, there were severe stains from leaves. I used a wash soap developed for boats and let it soak for a bit, worked very well on all but the deepest stains.

Okay, I know that I'll get hate mail over this but . . .

Why worry about roof stains? No one will ever see them unless their standing on an overpass as you pass under!

"Rubber" roofs today aren't rubber at all. Hose them down. Gently scrub with a soft broom and mild soap. Rinse well. Now your done.

I believe that the dozens of roof cleaning products out there exist only because RVers buy them; not because they are necessary to protect your roof.
