I have number 1 above. I can see the seal. It's a strip of rubber that goes around the window.
It has been 'caulked' with black sealer at the top and sides. A couple years back I went around with black caulk (from Camping World - not sure if it was silicone or not) and touched up/filled in any gaps or areas that didn't look good. I did remove residual caulk prior to recaulking.
