Alaska, Montana and Oregon really blow the rest of us away. Interesting.

Thanks for the link. A lot of great information. It looks like the folks in the States that build the RVs dont buy them.
Oregon at the top surprisingly.

Could be that it's because of no sales tax in Or. I've bought and sold 3 motor homes and never paid sales tax, just title and reg. I just bought my 4 th used MH and just titled it for $98. It's not new but that should not make any difference. I may be wrong, not sure.

Yes, how many California residents buy their RV's in Oregon? Probably a lot of them.

I'm kind of confused. Even if buying an RV in Oregon that has no sales tax, don't you end up paying it as "use tax" in the state where you eventually register? ...i.e. California residents buying in Oregon will still have to pay California sales/use tax in the county where they register it, right? Or am I wrong as I seem to be a lot nowadays?, LOL.
Oregon has always been a state where many RVs are manufactured and it appears that many are sold their too. But can we tell by that article if the sales are to residents of Oregon or is it just sales totals regardless of where the buyer is from?
Also, Oregon has a lot of RV service facilities and RV renovators/fabricators and I think most out-of-state victors can get away with the zero sales/use tax on purchases and services as most can argue that the product is not being exclusive used in their home state. This would include tire purchases too, I believe.

We bought our Beaver from a private seller in Oregon , we had to pay the sales tax in Washington which was around 10 grand when we registered in Washington.
If I lived closer to the border I would have just left it registered In Oregon and stored it there .
