Our 5th and final (for the moment no doubt) project of the year. We removed our carpet (not from the slide per manufacturers recommendation) and replaced it with Congoleum Endurance Plank Vinyl tile. We did not DIY this job, instead used Carpet Network in Lafayette LA as their installer had worked with RV's before. Original plan was to go all the way to the firewall with the vinyl, but NOT the doghouse. However, when carpet was removed, there was a large metal access panel under the drivers side near gas and brake pedel, it couldn't be felt though carpet, but would have lifted the vinyl enough to be noticed. When we found this out, the company owner offer some very high end carpet he had in stock at no cost to us to fix the problem. So we ended up with our plank vinyl thoughout the living area to the bedroom, then to just behind the driver/passenger seats. The installer used a quarter round molding around the kitchen/powder room/window area to finish the look. The carpet looks great in the driving area and over the doghouse We could not be more pleased; between this, the new valances, backsplash, dinette, and new seat upholstery, it's like having a brand new RV

Very nice... I like carpet and want to replace my carpet with new... thinking home depot to order and have them install.

You took the carpeting off the valences, too? And covered them with vinyl?

My older Class B is simply hard ugly with blue carpet throughout, but I don't know how I'd handle the smaller areas with vinyl or wood.

I think you've done an absolutely superb job, and can be proud of yourselves and the contractor.

I went to Home Depot when I started the project, to see if they would install in an RV; they said no, they don't work on RV's. maybe it's different where you're at....good luck.

Thanks Bowser! No, the valances and lamberquins were done in fabrics, we used home upholstery fabric from the sewing store, we used a micro suede on the lower portions and a cotton/poly blend on the upper band (the red). We found the whole area looks and feels larger with the vinyl.

Nice- Don't get Home Depot or Lowes to install your floors in an rv. They don't have a clue how everything must work- especially when you have slides. But- its your hard earned money

When I bought my former rental from Cruise America they put that vinyl plank flooring in it since the linolium was toast. It's good stuff. Your looks very good!
