RV Replacement stairs
Has anyone had experience with the Lippert or MoRyde replacement stairs? Can they be used on a class A? I have searched for an answer but no luck so far. I don't see how they could be closed from the inside when you get ready to roll.

I'm not sure they'd work in a Class A motorhome or at least be practical for use in a Class A. Don't they have to be stored from the outside? If so, you then couldn't get back in the coach as the stairs when stowed would be blocking the doorway ...plus, even if you could squeeze by, you'd have to hop up to the first step without assistance.
I'm trying to imagine how they'd work on a Class A with only one entracne. Can you explain?
First though, are you referring to the MORryde StepAbove and/or the Lippert Solid Step? ...like this StepAbove shown at etrailer?:

If so, you're going to have to explain to me how you'd get back into the coach once you store the steps as they appear to be blocking the doorway. It's ideal for a travel trailer or 5th wheel as you can store from the outside and then go get into your tow vehicle and take off but in a Class A, how are you going to get back in to drive away? Or probably would even be okay on a Class C where you and passengers could enter from the cab doors.

I would think maybe they could come up with some sort of strap to pull it shut from inside. All of your questions are the same as mine however on the E Trailer site they list motorhome compatable. Maybe class C only.

Ah, okay, sorry. I'm not that familiar with these steps as I've personally never seen them used on a Class A.
Right, you'd think it would be very easy to -pull up from the inside with a rope, etc. as don't they have strut assist on some models? But I'm not sure of the latching mechanism --can it be operated from the inside?
Also, I'm wondering about leveling. If you're doing all your leveling from controls inside and never need to go outside, I guess that's not too much of a problem but if you have to go outside to check, it may be a bit of a hassle as the steps need to sit on solid ground so you won't want to do any type of remote leveling from the inside with the steps extended. Therefore, I suppose you'd have to keep lowering and stowing the steps each time you want to go out to check anything during the leveling process as you wouldn't want to level with the steps extended to prevent any damage.
But yeah, let's see what others say who have used them on a Class A motorhome and see what problems and issues there may be. It will be interesting. Thanks for posting about this.

What is wrong with your existing steps, did they get destroyed in an accident, rust through, etc?
The tread on the steps for my 2002 class A rusted through, previous owner installed a outdoor carpet tread cover that retained water and allowed the step to rust through. I found a complete Kwikee replacement step assembly sell for about $570, I was able to get a local welding shop to rebuild the tread on mine better than new, and paint it with anti-slip black grit paint for under $180.

My current steps just died. There are a lot of You Tube videos out there showing repairs but just thought as long as I was going to have to invest some time and money that I would look for an upgrade. The trailer folks seem to love these stairs.

Trailer folks never need to deploy steps from the inside

You might find this Kwikee Products Service Training Manual useful. With this manual you can identify your model steps then repair them.
