I think Zeus looks lovely. We have known a few American Bull Dogs.

Del & Charlotte, it is always nice to find people with some moral courage. I gather you no longer own an RV park else I'd try to patronize it.

My money is the same color and spends just like their money (I just don't have as much money as they do). I bought my class C motorhome brand new in 1996 and have tried to take care of it over the years. Campgrounds with the 10 year old rule have requested photos of my motorhome and I have been accepted every time (so far).

Some people haven't a clue, Here's a photo of Zeus with his pet cat Dexter.
He's raised him since we rescued him In Waveland after Katrina, they sleep, take walks together and if one isn't feeling well, the other takes care.

Sorta strange that some here get so upset at RV parks and resorts setting and enforcing their own sets of rules and conditions - often whimsical, petty, selective and arbitrary - yet have no such criticism and complaints at various websites - many of which clearly operate in the same fashion...

Guess it relates to whose ox is being gored...

I use the same basic approach to both situations - if I don't like the rules, I leave!

Folks, we're with the pets.

Let's get back on topic.

It became a two topic thread, pretty entertaining if you ask me.
I know, nobody asked me.

Off topic? Perhaps a little, but still focusing on one aspect of RV resort restrictions. Pet hassles are a big problem.

On the point that we get upset over this, yes, it is a private business that sets its own rules, but it also makes a big hassle to find a nice place that doesn't have arbitrary rules. If it was as easy as finding out what WalMarts don't allow over nighting it would not be a problem, but it is really difficult.

It gets worse when local park owners lobby the local government to put in over night parking bans, and are not obliged to take all comers at any hour.

Has it actually become "really difficult" to find nice parks whose rules don't exclude many of us? It's been my impression that restrictions like the one in the OP are corner cases and are usually very clearly stated on their websites or in the directories.

Certainly in some areas such as around Phoenix we were refused service by about 10 parks for the sin of being too young and our trailer too old (I was 50, my trailer 11), and then for having "pit bulls".

We have also had many delightful experiences.

It is also complicated when you are trying to find a spot while traversing the country - you need to guess where you want to stop for the night and start making calls. Out here in the west you can be without phone service for extended periods, and when you are in a phone zone many of the parks are small with limited staff, and the phones roll to voice mail. I'd say this happens almost half the time we phone an independent park.

Since most of the directories don't actually include detailed park rules you have to phone. In addition to some arcane rules, we have to deal with the fact that we are 42 feet long, and lots of parks only have a few sites that will take us, so yes, it can be difficult when you add restrictions to the mix. Hence when on the road we usually use WalMarts.
