RV transmission break

hi guy`s im new to this so bear with me
iv had a problem were i put the rv into park OK
got out of rv started to put egs down OK
turned to talk to my mate when THE RV STARTED TO ROLL AWAY DOWN THE HILL please can anyone put light on why the rv shud jump out of park iv now got chocks under wheels when i park thank god ther was no one hurt and ther was a ditch to stop the rv all the best from the uk gary
shud also say a big thanks to the guy`s who helped to pull my rv out of the bushes with ther 2 landrovers ..yes 2 these rv are heavy ....rv/campers stik together

, Gary! Depending on brand of transmission on your Oshkosh chassis, your RV may not have a parking pawl, the transmission shifts to neutral and a drum brake engages for the "Park" position. I don't know what transmission your chassis has but hopefully somebody who has an Oshkosh will chime in.

If you have one of these systems, it obviously needs fixing/adjusting. IIRC, the same drum brake functions as the parking brake, so even if you had it set that may not have helped!

hi yes ther is a drum brake on my rv ,iv just had the rv for a mot and it was working ok also iv found that i need to run the truck for a minnit or two before i can move on ,i think that is the drume brake being applyed /comeing of with the air compressor ,so im pretty sure that the brake is working all i think is that i never put it into park properly and it jumpt out as i put the legs down ,thanks for all the help .gary ...uk

hi just one more thing ,im going to a show here in the uk in a week or so and ther is a guy ther who is going to have a look see if everything is set up right .here are is a picture of the inside ,iv redun every thing as the rv was gutted by the last owners to be used as a { breast screening cancer clinic) thanks gary & fay

Parking brake set, transmission in park and wheels chocked in two places....before you try to level.
