Sacrificial RV Cover

My next door neighbor is ruining my RV roof. He burns tree debris, leaves and trash 7 days a week and sometimes 12 to 14 hours per day. The smoke and ash including hot embers land on the roof and stain it and just make it filthy. If I wash it, the next day it looks the same. The County and State agencies here will not help at all. The RV is parked in our driveway and it doesn't matter where we park it on our property. The neighbor refuses to do anything about it. We can't afford an RV port right now so we are considering a sacrificial cover for the time being. If he sets it on fire, the problem will be solved while he is in jail. I am looking for any recommendations for covers that are not too expensive because they will have a short lifespan but will protect the RV from the ash. Thanks. Chuck

For a cheap option just tie some Harbor Freight tarps down over the roof...

The problem with cheap plastic/vinyl tarps is that hot embers melt right through them. Even the more expensive grades of tarp. Canvas is only a little better - the embers slow-burn a hole instead of instant-melt. Look for tarps labeled flame resistant, though that may not be all that effective against melt-through.

Maybe a welding blanket or something like that. Harbor Freight has them.

Not looking for tarps or blankets. They don't do well in the winter winds and conditions and usually wind up doing more damage to the RV finish. That's why I'm looking for feedback on RV covers. I don't mind the extra expense. We'll eventually spend the money and get an RV "carport". This guy has already forced us to spend $5,000.00 for a privacy fence so we don't have to look at his ____hole every day. Chuck

I know that Adco made just a Tyvek RV roof ony cover. I use a Adco All Climate Designer Series Cover for my 40'er here in Northern Illinois & saw the Adco Roof "only" cover on Facebook Marketplace but it was sold fast. There are so many RV covers for sale on Marketplace so not necessary to buy new! If the guy burns up your cover now you have a legit beef & can involve the police. I just went to Manning, SC Marketplace & see the Exact (new in the box 40' to 43') cover I bought for $350. that cover is close $600. all day long at Camping World..I paid $150. for mine also new in the box & couldn't believe he only wanted that for it..there out there! Not sure how long your Bounder is but this is just an example.

Contact the local/state EPA and complain about the air pollution.

Call DHEC in South Carolina. Tell them you and your guests get sick from the fly-ash and smoke.

Good info. Thanks. My first call tomorrow. But in the meantime I need to protect the RV. Chuck

I'll have a look. The RV is 35 foot so I would need to look at a larger cover to be sure I can make it fit. Thanks. Chuck

A welding blanket ought to work nicely but they are typically smallish, e.g. 6x8. And not cheap. Would need several of them.

Sorry but that's just not going to work. And I would like to protect the sides and ends from all the ash and soot too. Chuck
