Safest jacking location in the rear class C

I need to fix a leaking airbag and check my brakes. I have an 11 ton
pneumatic / hydraulic jack and some 5 ton stands. I believe the best place to jack the rear is under the axle housing below the leaf springs. Does this sound about right? I want to be safe doing this. Would you attempt to do this in your driveway? Better left to a shop?

Yes, jack under the spring, close to the tire and place the stand just inside the jack on the axle tube.

NOTE: E-SUPER-DUTY (JACK/ STAND) INBOARD OF LEAF SPRING MOUNT:(NOT under)

I am NOT recommending this. I had to buy 6 tires during a trip once and they used the pumpkin. To me it didn't seem safe or good for the chassis. They probably blocked it up there somehow but I dont remember.

But I am not an expert and at the time I wasn't in a spot to argue. I just wanted back on the road.

We had long floor jacks to reach the center of the differencial housing on our HD trucks.

If you didn't jack them in the center, you didn't have room for the stands, closer to the ends.

That's the same type jack, and jacking point, the tire shop used on my class C, when I was getting rear tires.

Interesting - So you are saying the pumpkin is a safe place to jack it up from?

I would be worried that the housing isn't designed for this weight and the gasket could be impacted and start to leak.

You be the judge with your RV.

I wouldn't have a problem with jacking under the differencial housing, if I still had a long floor jack, properly placed, rated for the axle weight.
